  1. I dunno though, I wish they would switch it up a bit. It’s always the same people, with the same style of photography. Ferragamo did something similar a few months ago. The Blonde Salad- yaaaawn! I would rather it was people who actually know and wear the brand or can offer a creative take on it (just sayin…)

The second study had a similar initial set-up – 12 active women, the same four shoe choices, the same 12 treadmill trials at the same intensities – but a different focus. Instead of measuring exercise output, this study examined specific muscular responses. Electrodes were hooked up to measure EMG activity in the gastrocnemius (or calf muscle), the rectus femoris (quadriceps muscle), the biceps femoris, the gluteus maxiumus, the erector spinae (back muscles), and the rectus abdominus (abs). An initial test was run to determine the EMG in response to a maximum voluntary isometric contraction (MVIC); the study would use EMG recordings from the treadmill trials and compare them to the MVIC EMG.
The great irony of these shoes is they are marketed for fitness improvement, but they can only be worn by people who are reasonably fit. Look at the ads - models appear reasonably healthy and fit for the average Jane Jr. People who are very overweight should not wear them because they'll slide all over them. The more overweight a person is, the worse it will be, to the point that they could indeed topple over. People with balance issues, joint problems or bone density issues should not wear these.
These shoes have definitely changed my mind and I think they have really done a great job. I enjoyed running in the shoe but didn’t really like it passed 10 miles. There’s just not enough cushion for me for runs much longer than that, but that’s really personal preference. It is so light that I think it could act as a great trainer and racer for people racing half marathons and below.
