  1. I dunno though, I wish they would switch it up a bit. It’s always the same people, with the same style of photography. Ferragamo did something similar a few months ago. The Blonde Salad- yaaaawn! I would rather it was people who actually know and wear the brand or can offer a creative take on it (just sayin…)

There was no significant difference in muscle EMG activity across different shoe types. EMG activity increased in response to the increasing intensity of the treadmill trials, as is to be expected. ACE’s ultimate conclusion follows thusly: “There is simply no evidence to support the claims that these shoes will help wearers exercise more intensely, burn more calories or improve muscle strength and tone.”The shoe companies counter with their own internally-funded studies. Here are Skechers’, Reebok’s, and MBT’s research.
4. Altra Zero Drop: This sneaker provides much more room than most running shoes that tend to be narrow in the front. It was nice to finally put on a sneak that I could wiggle my little guys around in. However, all this room may not be a plus for all fans of minimalist shoes or someone who prefers a secure fit. Like the Skechers, take these shoes for a jog around the store before you make a decision. The Zero Drop offers little in terms of flexion, making for a stiffer run than the Nikes or Reeboks. But what it lacks in flexion, it makes up for in performance.
According to the FTC, through ads featuring celebrities like Kim Kardashian and Brooke Burke, Skechers made numerous false and deceptive claims about the weight loss and muscle strengthening benefits people would get from the company’s toning shoes, compared to regular fitness footwear. One campaign featured Kardashian “breaking up” with her trainer, thanks to the benefits of wearing Skechers. Actress Burke claimed, “The newest move in fitness is tying your shoelaces. Because once my Skechers Shape-ups are on snug and comfy, I’m toning my muscles, strengthening my core, burning calories. Why? Because Shape-ups really work. No matter what I do, or what they do [camera pans to children]. Skechers Shape-ups. Step into your new body.”
