Anna Abrell

Anna Abrell is a postgraduate at the London College of Fashion studying MA Strategic Fashion Marketing. She currently works in the London branch of Decoded Fashion where she assists the event director, writes articles about current fashion/tech trends and handles part of the social media. Anna previously interned at Matthew Williamson under the head of digital, Rosanna Falconer. She studied psychology and business administration at undergraduate level and her main interests include luxury fashion marketing, omni-channel, e- and m-commerce and all things that combine fashion, technology and digital. Anna is German and Swiss, and currently calls London her home.

    I dunno though, I wish they would switch it up a bit. It’s always the same people, with the same style of photography. Ferragamo did something similar a few months ago. The Blonde Salad- yaaaawn! I would rather it was people who actually know and wear the brand or can offer a creative take on it (just sayin…)

But, the bad taste left in my mouth from my previous interaction with Skechers caused me to hesitate. Did I really want to support a company with a marketing approach like that which Skechers has employed? I wanted to be sure that if I agreed, and honest review is what they wanted. So, here is the text of my email response to their initial inquiry:
Comfort level: As a woman, you know that sitting down and relaxing is just a pipe dream. In reality, if you are anything like most women, you are on the go constantly. Therefore, you want and deserve the most comfortable shoe possible. The comfort level of the SkechersGOwalk 2 shoe is impressive. What makes the shoe comfortable is its virtually weightless synthetic material. The average GOwalk shoe weighs just 5oz for a size 7M.
The commission says Skechers falsely represented that clinical studies backed up the company's claims about its toning shoes. The FTC's Vladeck said the studies had defects, such as one that said people lost weight wearing the toning shoes, when in fact they gained weight.
